Complementing the surface finish of Haddonstone’s renowned dry cast product is TecStone, a denser cast stone material with a smoother finish to meet demanding design and performance criteria. TecStone is manufactured using a unique wet cast production technique at Haddonstone facilities in both the UK and USA.
TecStone is ideal for use in standard designs and custom designs ranging from columns and paving to fountains and statuary. Wet cast TecStone can also be successfully used alongside designs manufactured in dry cast Haddonstone and fibre-reinforced TecLite. Where a Haddonstone design is supplied in wet cast TecStone as standard, the product code is prefixed by the letters G or H (eg HE600). Standard TecStone colours are Portland 01, Bath 02, Terracotta 04, Coade 05 and Slate 06.
Haddonstone is a founder member of the United Kingdom Cast Stone Association (UKCSA).
The United Kingdom Cast Stone Association defines strict levels of technical performance, which are set out in the UKCSA Technical Manual, with which all UKCSA members comply. TecStone's minimum cube compressive strength at 28 days is greater than 45 MPa ~ far exceeding the requirements of BS1217: 2008, BS5642: 1983 and BS EN 13198: 2003 as well as the more onerous UKCSA specification. In addition, TecStone exceeds the requirements of ASTM C1364 Standard Specification for Architectural Cast Stone in the USA. Furthermore, as part of Haddonstone's Quality Assurance procedures, the wet cast TecStone material is regularly tested both in Haddonstone’s own laboratory and by a recognised independent laboratory. Thus, customers may have every confidence that the quality and durability of the wet cast TecStone material will meet their needs in the UK, USA and worldwide.
This stunning project in Leicestershire successfully combines TecStone, TecLite and Haddonstone elements.
